The rise has been particularly visible in rural districts, where women are increasingly engaged in agriculture-linked enterprises, self-help group initiatives, micro-entrepreneurship, and allied activities such as dairy and food processing. Urban centres, meanwhile, are seeing stronger participation in services, retail, small businesses, and entry-level corporate roles, supported by expanding skilling programmes and improved access to livelihood opportunities.
