Ambuja Foundation and Kanohar Electricals Launch Skill Development Initiative For Rural Youth In Uttar Pradesh

Ambuja Foundation and Kanohar Electricals Limited have partnered to launch a Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh, with the aim of training more than 1,000 rural youth over the next three years.

The initiative is designed to address unemployment and limited livelihood opportunities among young people in villages around Saunda in Modinagar, despite the region’s proximity to the expanding Delhi NCR economic corridor.

According to the organisations, a field assessment conducted across surrounding villages highlighted a growing gap between formal education and industry-relevant employability skills. While many young people had completed school or graduation, limited access to technical training and career guidance had restricted employment opportunities
.
The new institute will offer vocational courses in areas including phlebotomy, operation theatre assistance, customer care, microfinance and general duty assistance. Alongside technical learning, participants will also receive training in soft skills, information technology, financial literacy and workplace readiness.

The programme will additionally include on-the-job training exposure and occupational health and safety education to improve long-term employability and workplace preparedness.

Village Saunda was selected for the initiative due to its alignment with the programme’s objectives and its connection to the roots of Kanohar Electricals founder Shri Kanohar Lal Singhal.
Commenting on the partnership, Pearl Tiwari, CEO of Ambuja Foundation, said, “With the growing demand for a skilled workforce across sectors, it is becoming increasingly important to bridge the skills gap and equip youth with industry-relevant capabilities.”

She added, “Through this strategic partnership with Kanohar Electricals Limited, we aim to empower youth with the skills, confidence and opportunities needed to build sustainable careers and improve their socio-economic well-being.”

Dinesh Singhal, Chairman and Managing Director of Kanohar Electricals Limited, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment towards inclusive economic development and rural empowerment.

“At Kanohar Electricals Limited, we believe that investing in skills development is essential for building inclusive economic growth. Through this collaboration with Ambuja Foundation, we hope to create meaningful opportunities for young people in rural Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

Over the next few years, the institute is expected to support rural youth in accessing employment opportunities across the NCR region while also contributing towards stronger local skill development ecosystems and improved household incomes.
