Yogi Adityanath Marks 9 Years In Office, Outlines UP’s Development Push

Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched the book ‘Nav Nirman Ke 9 Varsh’ in Lucknow, marking the completion of nine years of the state government, which he described as a period of “unprecedented development and sustained prosperity”.

Speaking at an event held at Lok Bhavan, the Chief Minister credited the transformation of Uttar Pradesh to the “double-engine government” under the leadership of Narendra Modi, along with the efforts of party workers, public representatives and the support of citizens.

“The transformation witnessed over the past nine years is the result of policy-driven governance, service-oriented leadership and public participation,” he said, adding that the progress reflects the collective strength of the state’s 25 crore population.

Adityanath contrasted the current scenario with the pre-2017 period, stating that Uttar Pradesh had faced an identity crisis despite its vast agricultural and human resource potential. He pointed to issues such as poor law and order, unemployment, migration of skilled workers, and corruption in recruitment processes as key challenges in the past.

“Today, the situation has completely changed,” he said, citing improvements across sectors including security, infrastructure, investment, employment generation, farmer welfare and women’s empowerment. He also highlighted efforts to strengthen governance through better education, healthcare, environmental initiatives and service delivery.

The Chief Minister added that cultural preservation and promotion have also been prioritised, helping reposition Uttar Pradesh at both national and global levels.

As part of the celebrations, the state government will organise a nine-day programme based on nine themes, beginning from Chaitra Navratri. The initiative aims to engage citizens across sections—youth, farmers, workers, women and marginalised communities—while sharing achievements and outlining future development goals.

“Through dialogue, we aim not only to present the progress of the past nine years but also to chart a roadmap for the future,” he said, adding that the number nine symbolises completeness and auspiciousness.

Adityanath also highlighted the state’s proposed budget of approximately ₹9.12 lakh crore for the upcoming financial year, stating that it will accelerate holistic and balanced development, strengthen the economy, enhance infrastructure and create employment opportunities.

He asserted that Uttar Pradesh is setting new benchmarks in security, governance and development, and that the growth trajectory will continue to expand in the years ahead.
